Juerg Aus der Au
CEO & Founder
Juerg Aus der Au is the CEO and founder of LaserAtWork GmbH, a laser company that wants to put reliable, compact and cost-effective laser systems into the hands if its customers
Juerg has more than 19 years of experience in the laser industry. He began his career 2003 as laser scientist in the R&D group of Spectra-Physics in Silicon Valley (USA). In 2005, he moved to Austria to join High Q Laser GmbH, a leader in the development of picosecond and femtosecond laser systems, where he held different roles as laser scientist and head of the photonics department. In 2011, he became senior director of engineering, overseeing up to 23 engineers from photonics, electronics and mechanical design. End of April 2023, Juerg resigned to open up LaserAtWork GmbH.
Juerg holds a PhD in physics from the ETH in Zurich, Switzerland. He has written more than 30 peer-reviewed papers and is holder of 4 patents.
Guenther Jena
Senior HW/SW Engineer
Guenther Jena plays a crucial role at LaserAtWork, taking charge of all matters pertaining to hardware electronics, firmware and software design. His area of expertise lies in driving innovation with a strong emphasis on compactness and user-friendliness.
Guenther has more than 16 years of experience as hardware electronics and software design engineer. The last 14+ years he has dedicated his career to the development of laser hardware electronics, firmware and software design, with a special emphasis on usability.
In 2006, Guenther received his Dipl.-Ing. degree from the University of Applied Science in Hagenberg, Austria. Since 2011, he also holds a teacher certificate in engineering education from the University College of Teacher Education Vorarlberg.
